I've been playing around with Google Docs a little bit for the second part of tech task #2. I have used it before but only for collaborative work on group assignments or when I knew I wasn't going to be on my computer to continue working.
The ways you can share classroom activities with parents through Google Docs are amazing. I like that I can keep track of student assignments online with the option for parents and guardians to have access to the information. In Michael Wacker's presentation it looked as though each student was given a number and then parents looked according to that. Personally I would choose to have an individual document/spreadsheet for each student that way I would be able to comment on student work and parents would be able to see the comments as well.
Another way that I would like to use Google Docs in the classroom is by having a weekly updated homework document so that students could access their homework anywhere. I would post the weekly homework link to our classroom blog which would allow my students to see what's going on in the classroom even if they cannot be at school.
There are so many possibilities with Google. Also, take a look at the lesson plans and lesson plan ideas; there are so many good ideas out there!
